Bracewell even smashed a six off the first ball of the over to put everyone on the edge of their seats before Shardul Thakur delivered a near-perfect yorker to dismiss him LBW.
The 12-run win has helped India take a 1-0 lead but it has also showed that it is not going to be a cakewalk moving further in the series. New Zealand are the number 1 side in the world and even without some of their first choice players they made a match out the game when they were staring at a defeat much earlier in the match.
