Delhi-based Suresh Batra, who was assistant coach to Rajkumar Sharma and one in every of Virat Kohli’s childhood coaches when he joined their academy to coach, handed away on Thursday on the age of 53. Senior cricket journalist Vijay Lokapally took to Twitter to share the information. As per Lokapally, Batra collapsed and died after ending his each day morning prayers.
“Suresh Batra (striped t-shirt), who coached @imVkohli when he was an adolescent, handed away on Thursday. He had completed his each day morning puja and collapsed. He was 53,” Lokapally tweeted.
The senior journalist quoted Rajkumar Sharma, Kohli’s childhood coach, as saying, “I misplaced my youthful brother. Knew him since 1985.”
Batra, alongside chief coach Rajkumar Sharma, helped Kohli sharpen his cricketing abilities on the West Delhi Cricket Academy till he was able to play at greater levels. Aside from Kohli, Batra had additionally educated Manjot Kalra, who scored a century within the 2018 Below-19 World Cup.
