Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot will hand over his resignation to Rajasthan’s Governor Kalraj Mishra after Congress lost the state to BJP on Sunday.
According to PTI, sources said that Gehlot is set to meet Governor Mishra at 5:30 pm.
BJP has bagged 114 out of 199 seats in Rajasthan while Congress has won 70.

Conceding Congress’ defeat in Rajasthan, Gehlot said, “We humbly accept the mandate given by the people of Rajasthan. This is an unexpected result for everyone. This defeat shows that we were not completely successful in taking our plans, laws and innovations to the public.”
He added, “I wish the new government all the best…All the schemes including OPS, Chiranjeevi and the pace of development that we have given to Rajasthan in these five years should be taken forward…”

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated BJP party workers on the party’s landslide victory in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh.
“The results in Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan indicate that the people of India are firmly with politics of good governance and development, which the @BJP4India stands for,” he said.
Modi is expected to address party workers at 6:30 pm at BJP Headquarters in New Delhi.
