Most of the Karnataka exit polls results predicted a hung assembly in the state as voting came to an end for the 224-member state assembly on Wednesday evening. The exit polls predictions indicate that the JDS may play the role of the kingmaker again. The major exit polls are predicting 14-33 seats for the JDS.
It must be noted that during the 2018 Karnataka Assembly Elections, the JDS emerged as the kingmaker by securing 37 seats. After forming a post-poll coalition with the Congress, JDS leader H.D Kumaraswamy was appointed as the Chief Minister.
However, this time, the Congress has shown no interest in an alliance with the JDS with senior Congress leader DK Shivakumar even announcing that there is no chance of an alliance with the JDS.
The final verdict will be out on May 13 i.e Saturday when the counting of votes will be held.
