An online international conference focusing on high efficiency agriculture in Vietnam will be held on May 8 and May 22 in a bid to promote the transfer of science and technology in agricultural production from advanced countries to Vietnam.
The event is set to be organised by the Vietnam Australia Innovation Network (NIC AU) under the auspices of the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs and the National Innovation centre (NIC).
According to Hoang Ngoc Bao Huy, vice president of NIC AU, the gathering is anticipated to offer an ideal venue for local and international scientists and managers to share their experience and update the latest information on cutting-edge technologies in agriculture for local businesses.
Their experiences and recommendations will help localities nationwide to devise solutions aimed at improving crop productivity for export, Hue noted.
Huy went on to say that the NIC AU has been working alongside the NIC and other relevant agencies to organise similar seminars and programmes in the future.
The NIC AU representative expressed his hope that the conference will create a wealth of investment opportunities for foreign firms in Vietnam, as well as for local enterprises as they seek to make further inroads in the international market.
Through the conference, Huy said the NIC AU hopes to contribute to making radical reforms in the agricultural sector under the National Strategy for Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development for the 2021 2030 period with a vision towards 2050.
The NIC AU was first established in 2019 and has since become a member of the Vietnam National Innovation Centre. It has been licensed by Australia’s New South Wales Fair Trading with the goal of promoting “technology transfer” between Australia and Vietnam, as well as in developing a network which connects Vietnamese scientists to international experts in Australia and globally.
