Chinese automaker JAC Motors said on Tuesday that it “currently” has no plans to make electric vehicles with Huawei, denying earlier reports that the two companies were looking at developing EVs together. Nevertheless, a representative for JAC – which already partners with Volkswagen and Nio for manufacturing – did say that the potential is there for a deal with the Chinese communications firm, since the vehicle maker has been working closely with Huawei to source its in-car technology. Huawei co-launched the first vehicle to come fitted with its HarmonyOS operating system with automaker Seres last week. [China Securities Journal, in Chinese]
