Jaipur: Veteran Congress chief and former Rajasthan chief minister Jagannath Pahadia has died as a result of COVID-19 on the age of 89.
The chief minister of Rajasthan in 1980-81 and in addition a former governor of Haryana and Bihar, Pahadia died on Wednesday.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot mentioned he was very shocked by the demise. “Pahadia left us due to COVID. I’m very shocked by his demise. He had quite a lot of affection for me proper from the start,” Gehlot tweeted.
He mentioned Pahadia’s demise is a private loss for him.
The state authorities has introduced a one-day mourning on Thursday throughout which authorities workplaces shall be closed and the nationwide flag will fly at half-mast.
A cupboard assembly may also be held at 12 midday on Thursday to pay condolences to Pahadia, whose funeral shall be held with state honour the identical day.
