It wasn’t just love in the air– it was Alia Bhatt’s favourite cake as well. The actor has revealed how actor husband Ranbir Kapoor once gave her one of her most memorable gifts on her birthday, when the couple was shooting for their film Brahmastra.
Alia said Ranbir, who was her boyfriend when they were filming the Ayan Mukerji fantasy action adventure, flew down her favourite cake from London to Bulgaria as a gift for her.
In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Alia said she was so happy with the gift she didn’t share the cake with anyone– not even Ranbir. “The best gift I have gotten was from my husband, he was my boyfriend at that point of time. We were shooting a movie in Bulgaria and there is this particular cake that I am obsessed with in London from a cafe called Leto. It’s a milk cake.

Alia and Ranbir fell in love while filming Brahmastra, which released last year. The film marked their first on-screen appearance. The duo also tied the knot last year and became parents to a baby girl, Raha.
On the work front, Ranbir and Alia were rumoured to star in filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious Ramayana adaptation as Ram and Sita, respectively but there has been no update on the status of the project.
Alia recently made her Hollywood debut with the Netflix actioner Herat of Stone and also continued her hit streak at the box office with the release of her Karan Johar directorial Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani. Ranbir, meanwhile, will be next seen in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal, gearing up for a December release.
