A 20-year-old man was allegedly stabbed by another man in full public view over a personal enmity the latter nursed against the former for punching him in the face two years ago, officers said.
Additional DCP (Northeast) Sandhya Swami said that they received a PCR call on June 8 at Nand Nagri Police Station wherein the complainant alleged that his brother has been stabbed and is being taken to GTB Hospital.
A staff member immediately reached the spot as well as the GTB Hospital and the MLC of the injured, Kasim, a resident of Sunder Nagri, was obtained.
Kasim did not give any statement at the time as he was feeling drowsy.
Swamy said that Kasim has been referred to AIIMS Trauma Centre by the doctors of GTB Hospital for further treatment.
“Both the persons, the accused and the victim, are residents of the same locality and the fight broke out over a case of personal enmity… two years back, Kasim had allegedly punched Sohaib in the face over a tiff between them, which caused serious injuries to the latter’s face. Following this, Sohaib held a grudge towards Kasim,” said an officer.
A video of the incident showed Kasim being stabbed multiple times in full public view. A case of attempt to murder has been lodged.
