The country saw over 8,230 newly established enterprises in October, surging 42.9 percent from August and 111.2 percent from September, as the economy reopened.
According to the general Statistical Office, the newly established enterprises in October had their registered capital totalling VND108.6 trillion (US$4.78 billion) and 58,800 employees, increasing 73.9 percent and 17.9 percent month-on-month, respectively.
However, the figures were still down 32.5 percent in quantity, 34.4 percent in registered capital, and 18.8 percent in the number of labourers compared with the same period last year.
Besides, more than 4,300 enterprises resumed operations in October, falling 14.7 percent compared with the same period last year but increasing 29.8 percent against September. Forty-five of 63 cities and provinces saw the number of enterprises resuming operations increase last month.
The number of enterprises resuming operations soared 167.3 percent month-on-month in Danang, 58.3 percent in Can Tho, 31.6 percent in HCM City, 17.8 percent in Hanoi, 17 percent in Binh Duong and 3.8 percent in Dong Nai.
From January to October, 93,700 new companies were established, with total registered capital of nearly VND1.3 quadrillion and 707,700 employees, down 15.7 percent in the number of firms, 18.2 percent in capital and 16.8 percent in the number of labourers year-on-year.
In addition, more than 35,300 enterprises restarted operations, falling 6.3 percent year-on-year.
