UPS has launched a new flight connecting Hanoi to its Worldport global air hub in Louisville, Kentucky, via Hong Kong to boost capacity for businesses in Vietnam connecting to the US.
The new UPS flight operates weekly from Tuesday to Friday, in addition to a current Saturday flight that also plies the Asia-US route.
UPS is also extending pickup times across eight areas in Hanoi including Hoang Mai, Long Bien, Dai Tu, Dai Kim, Linh Dam, North Linh Dam, Linh Dam peninsula, and Sai Dong Industrial Zone.
Businesses in HCM City will enjoy faster turnaround as urgent shipments picked up by 2pm can be delivered by the next day to key Asian markets including mainland China, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand.
“Vietnam has grown rapidly into an important manufacturing hub in Asia and over the past two decades become a major exporter of technology and apparel goods to key markets internationally and within the Asia Pacific region,” said UPS Vietnam managing director Squall Wang.
“We know how critical it is for our customers to have access to fast, frequent, and reliable air cargo capacity. This new flight from Hanoi, along with our enhanced capabilities in HCM City, will connect UPS customers in Vietnam to its top trading partners faster and better than ever, putting local businesses in a stronger position to grow, expand to new markets and compete globally.”
The new route between Hanoi and the US will be serviced by a Boeing 747-8, the largest aircraft and most fuel-efficient in the UPS fleet, with a payload of 307,000 pounds. UPS’s global air network features a fleet of almost 600 aircraft delivering to over 220 countries and territories around the world.
