New Delhi: British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, embroiled in the ‘Partygate’ case, is facing a no-confidence vote. If Johnson loses in a vote among 359 Conservative lawmakers, he will be removed as prime minister. On the other hand, if he wins, the way for him to remain in office for one more year will be cleared. Johnson is accused of having a house party when the lockdown and strict restrictions were imposed across Britain due to Coronavirus. This whole incident was named the Partygate Scandal in Britain.
More than 40 MPs of Britain’s ruling Conservative Party have demanded the resignation of Boris Johnson after the investigation report in the Partygate case surfaced. These MPs have alleged that Johnson allowed these parties to take place at the Prime Minister’s residence (Downing Street) and he himself attended them. In a survey by MyGov, 64% of the people of the country have asked for his resignation.

In the Partygate scandal, the police investigated and said – We have registered a case against 83 people. 126 fines were imposed on these people. According to media reports- Most of the junior officers were involved in this scandal.
If a no-confidence motion is passed against Johnson, he will be removed from the post of Prime Minister. At the same time, as soon as the matter of no-confidence motion comes to the fore, the names of such leaders are coming to the fore who are in the forefront of the race for the post of Prime Minister. The biggest name in this is Elizabeth Liz Truss who is the foreign secretary in the current government. Apart from this, the names of Jeremy Hunt, Rishi Sunak, Nadeem Jahavi and Penny Modern are also being mentioned in the race.
