By constantly investing in human resource development and creating value for employees, Nestle Vietnam is the only foreign-invested enterprise in the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector to be ranked as a Typical Enterprise for Labour by the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs in 2022.
The ranking has been chaired by the Vietnam general Confederation of Labour in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour, Invalids, and Social Affairs and the Vietnam Confederation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) since 2014.
It aims to honour the enterprises that have made great efforts to improve their working environment, take care of the material and spiritual lives of employees, and build a healthy corporate culture toward sustainable development.
Nestle Vietnam has been awarded the title of Typical Enterprise for Labour for three consecutive years.
This is a prestigious and transparent ranking with a very strict set of criteria built by a leading labour expert. This year’s ranking also features new criteria related to caring for and protecting workers during the pandemic, along with recruitment and employment targets, wages, allowances, and social insurance.
The ranking attracts hundreds of corporate candidates that have gone through rounds of business achievement reviews in the 2020-2021 period and the first six months of 2022. There are only 62 corporates that met the criteria for this year’s rankings.
Among them, 28 excellent enterprises received certificates of merit at the honouring ceremony on November 16. There are three levels of awards granted by the Ministry of Labour, Invalids, and Social Affairs, the Vietnam general Confederation of Labour, and the VCCI.
This year, Nestle Vietnam was honoured to be the only foreign-invested enterprise to receive a certificate of merit from the Ministry of Labour, Invalids, and Social Affairs.
The recognition is a testament to Nestle Vietnam’s efforts in effective human resource management to successfully create a healthy working environment and ensure sustainable development.
In all activities, Nestle Vietnam aims to improve the physical and mental health of employees with a focus on four aspects: Financial (competitive salaries and bonuses), Spiritual (a diverse and inclusive environment with a meaningful contribution to society), Physical (providing knowledge and support to build a healthy lifestyle), and Emotional (building a culture of transparency and trust).
Nestle Vietnam not only offers competitive salaries and welfare policies based on sustainable work performance but also creates value for its employees. These factors are crucial in attracting and retaining staff members. Employees benefit from a healthy relationship with management and colleagues, gain recognition and experience from working for a multinational company, and have the opportunity to learn and grow.
Truong Bich Dao, Nestle Vietnam’s HR director said, “For Nestle Vietnam, employees are the most valuable assets. This is the reason why the company wants to ensure each employee has a chance to make a contribution, grow, and climb the career ladder. We have created motivation for all employees and appreciate their value and potential without regard to race, ethnicity, sex, nationality, religion, age, or other differences.”
In 2022, millennials and generation Z will account for 67 per cent of the management personnel at Nestle Vietnam. Women make up 50 per cent of the leadership team and their average income in some specific cases is 1 per cent higher than that of their male counterparts. The company has also invested VND17 billion ($739,000) in training activities to improve the expertise and skills of its employees.
Despite the impacts of the pandemic on the company’s business performance over the 2020-2021 period, Nestle Vietnam always places top priority on the safety, stability, salary, bonus, and welfare of all employees.
Accordingly, Nestle Vietnam has guaranteed employment and increased compensation and bonuses in accordance with the strategy. The company also raised short-term bonuses for workers and improved the benefits of health insurance packages. During the pandemic, it provided a medical team to consult with and treat workers and provided oxygen generators for workers’ families who had sick family members.
On November 11, Nestle Vietnam was also ranked in the top 3 of the list of the Top 100 Best Places to Work in Vietnam 2022. Having retained this position for five years in a row, from 2018 to 2022, the recognition solidifies the company’s status as one of the country’s top employers and workplaces.
The ranking is based on a survey of more than 57,000 employees nationwide. Anphabe conducts the survey, which is independently evaluated by market research firm Intage.
