Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) is set to hold programmes in different parts of the state explaining the Supreme Court verdict on Maharashtra’s political crisis.
“The Supreme Court, in its order, has not only questioned the appointment of Eknath Shinde as group leader, it has also termed the appointment of Bharat Gogawale as party whip illegal. It literally settles the matter and the government has no moral right to remain in power. We feel that the issue should be taken to the people’s court now,” said NCP MLA and former minister Jitendra Awhad.
Awhad will be giving a detailed presentation on the SC verdict to NCP chief Sharad Pawar in a seminar organised by the party on Monday afternoon.
From thereon, the party is likely to hold such programmes across different parts of the state. The first of the series was held in Thane, three days ago.
