The MMRDA last week gave approval for awarding tenders for the construction of two foot over bridges (FOBs) that will facilitate commuters using Metro line 7 and Monorail to reach the nearest railway stations.
The first FOB will connect Metro 7’s Goregaon East station with the Ram Mandir railway station. This proposed FOB is 635-m long and will be built at a cost of Rs 57.93 crore. The second FOB, which is 335-m long, will connect Monorail’s Sant Gadge Maharaj Chowk station with Metro and railway stations at Mahalaxmi. It will be built at a cost of Rs 70.05 crore. According to MMRDA, the FOBs will help to increase the ridership in Metro and Monorail.
