Users worldwide experienced difficulties accessing Microsoft Corp’s popular product suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, as reports of an outage flooded in from hundreds of frustrated individuals.
Taking to micro-blogging platform Twitter, Microsoft wrote, “We’re investigating an issue with accessing Outlook on the web.” The company assured users that it was actively reviewing its networking systems and recent updates in an attempt to identify the root cause of the problem.

Furthermore, Microsoft disclosed that the outage was having downstream effects on other services within its ecosystem. “We’ve identified downstream impact for Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, and OneDrive for Business. We’re providing full impact details and updates for those services via MO571683. Updates pertaining to Exchange and Outlook on the web will continue to be provided via EX571516,” the company stated in a tweet.
