New Delhi: Karan Johar’s blockbuster directorial venture ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta and Saif Ali Khan in lead roles, clocks in 19 years today. The romantic family drama that released in 2003, secured its place as one of the cult movies that carries important life lessons, over the years.

Shah Rukh Khan’s character Aman became everyone’s favourite for some of his iconic dialogues and his perspective towards life. Preity Zinta and Saif Ali Khan’s romance came as a breath of fresh air while the film’s songs including the film’s title track sung by Sonu Nigam, ‘It’s The Time To Disco’ and ‘Pretty Woman’, became chartbusters. The peppy romantic track ‘Kuch To Hua Hai, Kuch Ho Gaya Hai’, resonated with every person in love.

Marking the film’s 19 years of release, Karan Johar took to his Instagram to share a series of behind the scenes pictures from the shoot sets. He also wrote an emotional note wherein he mentioned that ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’ was the last film that gave him the opportunity to direct with his father, renowned actor and filmmaker I S Johar.

Karan wrote, “An entire lifetime of memories, in a heartbeat! This film gave so much more than just that – it gave me joy, unbreakable bonds, a different lens for story telling and of course – the last film set I could be on with my father. And for that, I will forever be grateful to this film!♥️”

Preity Zinta, who played the female lead as Naina in the film, also took to her Instagram to share her best scene from the film on its 19th anniversary. Sharing a video clip of the scene that shows Aman reprimanding Naina for taking life too hard on herself and teaching her to smile, Preity penned a long note.

She wrote, “Remembering Kal Ho Naa Ho on its anniversary this Thanksgiving weekend. This is one of my favourite scenes from the film cuz multiple pages of dialogues were shot in One big take. Later a few close ups were added. This scene is all about gratitude & appreciating what we have in our present. This was my saddest happy film 💕 So grateful to have the opportunity to be part of films & cinema I enjoy & believe in 😍”
