IPL 2022 Final To Be Held With Full Crowd Capacity In Ahmedabad, Confirms Sourav Ganguly

New Delhi: In what comes as big news for cricket lovers all over the world, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), on Saturday, released the schedule of IPL 2022 playoff matches, PTI reported. BCCI President Sourav Ganguly, after an apex council meeting, confirmed that the three-team Women’s Challenger will be held in Lucknow’s Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium from May 24 to 28. 

Apart from this, in another major development, the matches of the IPL 2022 playoff will be played at Eden Gardens in Kolkata and Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The IPL 2022 1st playoff and eliminator will be played in Kolkata on May 24 and 26, respectively, while the second playoff and IPL 2022 final will be played in Ahmedabad on May 27 and 29, respectively. In these matches, spectators in the stadium will be allowed to full capacity.

“The Women’s Challenger series will be held between May 24-28 at Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium,” BCCI president Ganguly told media persons, PTI reported.

“As far as the men’s IPL knock-out stage matches are concerned, it would be held in Kolkata and Ahmedabad, with hundred percent attendance allowed for the matches to be played after the league staged finishes on May 22,” he added.

Meanwhile, BCCI today also announced the venues for the upcoming South Africa tour of India comprising five T20Is in June 2022. India-South Africa five-match T20Is will be played across Delhi, Cuttack, Vizag, Rajkot and Bengaluru.

Venues for South Africa’s tour of India 2022: 

First T20I – June 9 (Delhi)
Second T20I – June 12 (Cuttack)
Third T20I – June 14 (Vizag)
Fourth T20 – June 17 (Rajkot)
Fifth T20 – June 19 (Bengaluru)
