Scores of Indian-American community members held a peace rally in support of India in front of its consulate in San Francisco that was vandalised by separatist Sikhs early this week.

A huge crowd of Indian-Americans drove from in and around San Francisco, including representatives from Sacramento Telugu Association, and waived the tri-color flag to show solidarity with India on Friday.
The NRI’s have requested the US government to take appropriate measures to prevent the recurrence of such violent incidents by Pro-Khalisthan groups.
Indian-Americans raised the slogans of ‘Vande Mataram’, waved the tri-colour flag and danced to the tunes of ‘Vande Mataram’.
The Indo-American community condemned the destructive activities of separatist Sikhs, who were also present there in small numbers.
Local police was present in the area to prevent any unforeseen situation. Some of the separatist Sikhs chanted pro-Khalistan slogans, but they were outnumbered by a large gathering of Indian Americans who chanted Vande Mataram” and waved the Indian national flag along with that of the US.
On Sunday, a group of Khalistan supporters gathered in front of the Indian embassy in Washington, DC and many of their speakers tried to incite violence, but timely intervention by an alert US Secret Service and local police prevented a repeat of London and San Francisco incidents of vandalism at the mission.
They hurled abusive language and openly threatened Indian Ambassador to the US, Taranjit Singh Sandhu.
Some of the speakers were seen inciting fellow protestors to indulge in violence and break the windows and glasses of the building across the road.
In their speeches, most of the protestors were seen trying to incite violence not only in India but in the US as well, including physical damage to the Indian embassy property.
In different parts of the world, including Canada, Australia and UK, there has been reports of anti-India activities by Khalistan supporters. Recently they were alleged to have vandalised some Hindu temples in these countries as well.
