When rain-hit IND vs NZ 3rd T20I was stopped, India were reeling at 75/4 in 161-chase, both New Zealand and India were level on the D/L method which meant the match had to result in a tie, without an outright winner. In a normal situation, the result of the match would have been decided using a super over but the outfield at Mclean Park in Napier was too damp and the umpires took the call of not restarting the match because of unsafe playing conditions.
