IND vs SL, Asia Cup 2023: Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj powered team India to a great start after their batters were bowled out for a below-par 213 against Sri Lanka at R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo on Tuesday (September 12). Inside the first 10 overs, Bumrah claimed two wickets while Siraj picked one. Indian pacers managed to take three wickets with the new ball on a pitch where all 10 Indian batters were dismissed by Sri Lankan spinners.
Meanwhile, while Bumrah was at his best, he did leave fans extremely worried when he seemingly got his ankle twisted while bowling. Bumrah’s ankle twisted as he landed awkwardly while delivering the ball. However, it seems like he escaped unhurt as the star pacer continued his spell and moreover ended up dismissing Pathum Nissanka in his next over.

For the unversed, Jasprit Bumrah missed tons of cricketing action after suffering a back injury back in September 2022. One of the best Indian pacers of all time, Bumrah missed being part of the national team in last year’s T20 World Cup and 2023 season of IPL due to rehabilitation. The lethal right-arm fast bowler made his much-awaited India comeback with a T20I series against Ireland and is surely expected to play a major role for the Men in Blue in the upcoming ICC Men’s ODI World Cup 2023, scheduled to kickstart in October.
Coming back to IND vs SL Asia Cup 2023 Super 4s game, India won the toss and decided to bat first. Sri Lankan left-arm spinner Wellalage (5/40) and off-spinner Asalanka (4/18) spun a web around the Men in Blue to restrict the 2011 World Cup winners for a below-par 213.
