Hailey Bieber recently opened up about a health crisis that led to the diagnosis of Patent Foramen Ovale (PFO) one year ago. A hole exists between the right and left sides of the heart with this syndrome. On her Instagram story, the 26-year-old model stated that it had been one year since she experienced a minor stroke, which resulted in the PFO diagnosis. She also included a YouTube video from a year ago in which she explained how she discovered the issue.
Hailey Bieber stated on her Instagram story that because it had been a year since her diagnosis, she wanted to share all of the information she had learned with others. She also provided a donation link to UCLA Health, which assisted the model with her diagnosis.
In the next Instagram story slides, Hailey Bieber discusses the fact regarding this heart disease and names the same ‘congenital heart defect’. According to UCLA Health, more than half of persons who have a stroke with no known reason are more likely to have Patent Foramen Ovale (PFO).
In a following post, the Rhode skincare founder shared UCLA Health information regarding PFO, adding that it’s “the most prevalent congenital heart disease” that affects “20% of all people.” According to the post, PFO occurs in “60% of first degree relatives” and “60% of patients who have a stroke with no known aetiology are likely to have a PFO.”
Hailey Bieber recounted in a YouTube video aired last year how she had had a transcranial Doppler after suffering a small stroke. She stated that the treatment to close the hole in her heart went well and that she is on her road to a quick recovery.
Hailey Bieber was relieved after sorting things out, and the closure treatment allowed them to seal the hole and move on from the frightening event.
