“On 03.02.2023 Air India Express B737-800 aircraft VT-AYC operating flight IX 348 (Abu Dhabi-Calicut ) was involved in Airturnback due to No.1 engine flameout at 1000ft during climb,” the airline said in a statement.
The left engine of an Air India flight from Abu Dhabi to Calicut caught fire while mid-air on Friday morning, leading to the declaration of full emergency on board. The flight returned to Abu Dhabi, where it was safely landed and all passengers were evacuated.
