Delhi Police files cases against Shashi Tharoor, Rajdeep Sardesai for ‘misleading public’ over Republic Day violence

Delhi Police files cases against Shashi Tharoor, Rajdeep Sardesai for 'misleading public' over Republic Day violence

New Delhi: The Delhi Police has filed a case towards Congress MP Shashi Tharoor, senior journalist Rajdeep Sardesai, The Caravan journal and others for allegedly deceptive public in regards to the loss of life of a protester on the ITO through the violence on Republic Day, officers mentioned on Saturday.

The case has been registered on the IP Property police station below related sections of the Indian Penal Code, police mentioned.

Earlier, Tharoor and 6 journalists had been booked by the Noida Police for sedition, amongst different prices, over the violence through the farmers’ tractor rally in Delhi, officers had mentioned.

Madhya Pradesh police have additionally filed a First Info Report (FIR) towards Tharoor and the six journalists over their ‘deceptive’ tweets on the violence through the farmers’ tractor rally in Delhi.

On 26 January, 1000’s of protesting farmers had clashed with the police through the tractor rally referred to as by farmer unions to spotlight their demand for repeal of the Centre’s three farm legal guidelines.

Most of the protesters, driving tractors, reached the Crimson Fort and entered the monument. Some protesters even hoisted spiritual flags on its domes and the flagstaff on the ramparts.
