Parts of Delhi, Noida and adjoining cities on Saturday woke up to light rains, bringing respite from the humid weather. The national capital also witnessed cloudy skies and chilly winds. The minimum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 17.5 degrees Celsius, it said. The relative humidity was recorded at 66 per cent at around 8:30 am.
The Indian Meteorological department (IMD) had on Friday predicted that most parts of the country would witness rainfall accompanied with thunderstorms from March 17 to March 20.

”Scattered to fairly widespread light/moderate rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds are likely over the Western Himalayan Region and Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan on March 17-20,” the met department said.
“Light to moderate intensity rain would occur over and adjoining areas of few places of Delhi (Akshardham, Palam, Safdarjung, Lodi Road, Vasant Vihar, R K Puram, IGNOU, Ayanagar, Deramandi), Yamunanagar, Narwana, Barwala (Haryana) Saharanpur, Deoband, Nazibabad, Kandhla, Bijnaur, Hastinapur, Chandpur (UP),” IMD predicted.
The maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 29 and 16 degree Celsius, respectively on Saturday, an India Meteorological Department (IMD) official told news agency PTI.
On Friday, the national capital witnessed a cloudy sky with the maximum temperature settling at 30.4 degrees Celsius, the IMD said, adding that the minimum temperature settled at 17.2 degrees Celsius, one notch above the season’s average.
