BEIJING, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) — China’s pickup truck market registered robust growth in July, with sales rising 11.9 percent year on year, industry data shows.
According to the China Passenger Car Association, a total of 44,000 units were sold last month, as production disruptions have eased amid COVID-19 prevention and control measures.
In the first seven months of the year, a total of 303,000 pickup trucks were sold in China, down 3.5 percent year on year.
The association highlighted China’s strong policy incentives for improving product quality and removing travel restrictions to boost consumption.
It said the continuous strong growth of pickup truck consumption, driven by an increasingly vibrant culture surrounding the product, can be expected.
