Police in West Bengal have taken into their possession three idols found under the backyard of a house in Nadia district. They have asked the Archeological Survey of India (ASI) to examine them and ascertain their age.
The idols were found on Monday afternoon during digging work at the backyard of the house in Sardarpara village.
“We have sent a mail to the Archeological Survey of India informing them about the recovery. We also contacted them over the phone. They have assured us they will collect the idols which are in our custody,” a police official said.
While one of the idols is nearly three feet in height, the others are two feet in length.
