UEFA Champions League: Atletico Madrid vs Manchester City was perhaps the most power-packed, entertaining, and aggressive 0-0 match football fans witnessed in a long time.

Manchester City qualified on the basis of the one goal they had scored at the Etihad in the first leg.

Despite the UCL quarter-final being one of the most competitive match-ups, it will be remembered mostly for the post-match antics that were seen on and off the pitch. Manchester City and Atletico Madrid players got into fistfights, dragging each other to prevent them from time-wasting.

How Did It Begin?

Man City’s Phil Foden was cleaned up by defender Filipe near the corner of the field in the 89th minute. With the score being 0-0, Atletico players were getting frustrated due to Foden’s time-wasting. All hell broke lose when Oleksandr Zinchenko, a City substitute shooed away Atlético defender, Stefan Savic, trying to lift Foden to his feet. Everybody converged! This resulted in a big scuffle between the players where police had to take matters into their hands to stop the fighting.

In just a matter of minutes after 90, there were seven yellow cards shown. The extra time was extended to 13 minutes which is such a rarity.
