nominated
to
the
Rajya
Sabha

2022.

scriptwriter
from
Andhra
Pradesh
has
been
associated
with
the
creative
world
for
decades.
Last
year,
Prime
Minister
Modi
ji
recognised
his
greatness
and
said
“his
works
showcase
India’s
glorious
culture
and
have
made
a
mark
globally.” Today,
the
global
spotlight
is
on
‘RRR’
for
winning
an
Oscar
for
the
original
song
‘Naatu
Naatu’.
This
is
a
global
endorsement
of
the
Prime
Minister’s
choice,”
the
minister
wrote
on
Facebook.

He
then
explained
about
other
“illustrious
nominated
members
of
the
Rajya
Sabha
by
the
BJP
government.

Shri
Ilaiyaraaja
from
Tamil
Nadu,
one
of
the
greatest
Indian
music
composers
of
India.
He
has
composed
over
8,500
songs.

2.
Smt.
P.
T.
Usha
from
Kerala,
also
called
the
Golden
Girl
who
won
multiple
gold
medals
for
India
in
athletics
in
several
international
championships.
Apart
from
accomplishments
in
sports,
she
has
done
commendable
work
in
mentoring
budding
athletes
for
several
years.

3.
Shri
Veerendra
Heggade
from
Karnataka
is
another
illustrious
person
nominated
to
Rajya
Sabha.
He
is
at
the
forefront
of
outstanding
community
service.
He
has
done
great
work
in
health,
education
and
culture.

4.
Dr.
Sonal
Mansingh
from
Maharashtra
was
nominated
to
the
Rajya
Sabha
for
her
phenomenal
contribution
to
Indian
culture.
She
is
a
recipient
of
the
Padma
Vibhushan
and
Padma
Bhushan
awards,”
he
added.

Earlier,
Prime
Minister
Narendra
Modi
said
India
is
proud
and
elated
with
“Naatu
Naatu”
winning
an
Oscar,
and
hailed
the
song
as
one
that
will
be
remembered
for
years
to
come.

documentary
“The
Elephant
Whisperers”
after
it
created
history
at
the
95th
Academy

category.

to
the
peppy,
foot-tapping
chartbuster
from
SS
Rajamouli’s
Telugu
period
action
film
“RRR”
winning
the
Academy
Award
in
the
Best
Original
Song
category,

Modi
tweeted,
“Exceptional!
The
popularity
of
‘Naatu
Naatu’
is
global.
It
will
be
a
song
that
will
be
remembered
for
years
to
come.”

and
the

team
for
this
prestigious
honour.
India
is
elated
and
proud,”
he
said.

in
Hindi,
is
composed
by
Keeravaani
and
penned
by
Chandrabose.

In
another
tweet,
Modi
also
congratulated
director
Kartiki
Gonsalves,
producer
Guneet
Monga
and
the
entire
team
of
“The
Elephant
Whisperers”
for
winning
the
Oscars.
“Their
work
wonderfully
highlights
the
importance
of
sustainable
development
and
living
in
harmony
with
nature,”
the
Prime
Minister
said.
