Ahmedabad: The National Medical Commission (NMC) is expected to conduct the annual inspection of postgraduate medical colleges in the state in the next few days. The inspection had not been held in the past two years due to COVID.
Sources said administrations of medical colleges that have PG courses have instructed their employees to be ready for the surprise inspection. Sources said that administrations of the corporation-run NHL Medical College and BJ Medical College have instructed their staff to prepare all the documents for the teams that could arrive any day.
Sources said that the deans, heads of the departments, resident doctors, and technical staff have been instructed to wear proper uniforms and aprons while on duty. Teachers and doctors have been asked not to leave the campus when the inspection team is on a visit and keep attendance details ready.
The faculty members have been asked to only take leaves once the inspection is over. An official of BJMC said that the college has applied for the inspection and is prepared for the surprise check.
